La ONU : Empoderamiento de la Mujer rural



GWI (Graduate Women International-Mujeres Universitarias Internacional)
 a la que pertenecemos como Asociación, tiene representación en ONU Mujeres. Entre los días 12- 23 de marzo se llevará a cabo una campaña de empoderamiento de las mujeres en el mundo rural. Teniendo como base los estudios realizados sobre Mujeres en el Mundo Rural.
Será la reunión mas grande sobre igualdad de género que se celebre en la ONU hasta ahora. Será su sesión 62.

In Focus: UN Commission on the Status of Women

The UN’s largest gathering on gender equality, the 62nd session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW62), starts today at the United Nations Headquarters in New York and runs from 12 – 23 March 2018. It will focus on the theme, “Challenges and opportunities in achieving gender equality and the empowerment of rural women and girls”. The review theme this year is women in the media, bringing timely discussions on women’s participation in and access to the media, as well as to information and communications technologies. Follow the unfolding conversation at the United Nations and in rural communities worldwide.

CSW62 Official Meetings and Events

When: 12-23 March 2018

Every year, along with the formal programme of the Commission, a number of side events and parallel events are held on UN premises and around New York city. This year more than 280 side events and 440 parallel events will take place, and provide Member States, UN entities and NGOs to discuss key themes of the Commission and other critical gender equality issues.

This exhibit highlights stories of rural women and the issues they face in the context of the human rights the world has committed to uphold. Also check out our mini-exhibit on CSW's priority theme at the lower level of the main building near Vienna Café. 


Voices of CSW: Civil Society Meets the Press

When: 10 a.m. – 1pm. EST, Wednesday 14 March
Where: 18th Floor, UN Women

Marking its fifth year, the signature media event takes place every year at UN Women Headquarters during CSW to give civil society activists from across the globe a platform to speak about the issues and causes they work on with the prominent media outlets.
